Character: Clopin Trouillefou
Major he will be teaching: Theatre Performance and Clowning
Personality: Clopin is like an average Theatre Professor which means he isn’t average at all and like all the best dramatic individuals, Clopin is wonderfully eccentric and deviously clever. After spending a few minutes with him, most people end up with the conclusion that Clopin is five cards short of full deck but when he found that out, he decided to replace the missing cards with a couple of his very own aces and a whole bunch of wild cards. In regards to his students, Clopin tends to come across as the crazy, jovial, oddball uncle that all the adults look down upon but the kids love. He is always willing to listen and tends to give very wise, knowledgeable but often unexpected advice. On the other hand, He has been known to teach odd and somewhat embarrassing theatre exercises to his students simply for the twisted enjoyment of watching his students attempt to do it and watching as they struggle with feeling idiotic and wondering why they decided to pursue theatre. In summary, Clopin is an eccentric, lively, intelligent, mischievous, hilarious and humorous individual who loves the dramatic art of being dramatic.
Fun Fact: Those who take Clopin’s class should get used to the fact that he uses a series of puppets to help him teach and he will sometimes go into full-blown conversation with these puppets as they act out his other ‘personalities’.
Also be prepared to collaborate with those in Tara MacQueen’s Visual Arts Class.
