Student Form:
Username: Fluffyrenegade
Character: Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet
Age: 17
Major: Double Major in Robotics and Military Engineering
Personality: Jim is a very intelligent, inventive and independent young man with an intuitive sense of how things work and a natural ability for mechanics and robotics. He is a very hard working individual, a fast learner and a good problem solver who is able to think quickly and come up with solutions that others might not have considered. He has a very hands-on approach to life and learning. Jim is also very fun-loving, mischevious and jokey as well. He likes to goof off on occasion, like most teenage boys, and enjoys hanging out with people. Because of his independent nature and an inability to trust people easily, Jim can be rather rebellious as well. He does not like going with the conventional approach and refuses to follow blind orders. For Jim, there must be a reason and it had better be a good one.
When people first meet him, Jim can seem either friendly, bordering on flirty and a bit cocky or he can seem very snarky and sarcastic, especially if he decides that he doesn't like you. However, deep bellow this cocky and snarky exterior is a kind soul and sensitive heart that cares deeply about his friends and family. Good luck unearthing this other side though. For Jim, respect and trust are things that have to be earned, not given. He warms up to people gradually and very slowly but once his trust and respect have been earned, Jim is extremely loyal, protective and rather selfless in regards to the people who are important to him.
Brief History/How they got into the Academy: Jim has always had affinity for mechanics and building things since he was young. He was raised by his single mother who was a mechanic and taught Jim everything she knew about machinery, cars and in particular motorbikes as she ran an autobody/repair shop. By the time Jim was 8, he had built an motorbike engine that ran on solar power. By the time he was 10, not only could Jim take apart a complete car, figure out what was wrong and put it back together in perfect working condition, Jim had also built a complete motorbike that used his solar powered engine and was fully functional.
When he was 13, Jim's exploits had caught the eyes of the SanFransokyo Institute of Technology but he declined the offer as his mother had developed cancer. Because he felt responsible for his mother and needed to take care of her, Jim felt that he could not go to the university. Plus there was no money for him to go as most of the money they had went to his mother's medication and paying the medical bills. Young Jim had to balance highschool, taking care of his mom, running the autobody shop, and do many things that most teenagers don't even start thinking about till they are in college. Slowly, his mother began to recover and it seemed like the cancer was in remission. It was then that Jim started to think about San Fransokyo and their offer.
Jim received his chance to attend the institute when his green energy motorbike received 3rd prize and his design for a solar-powered, energy saving car received 2nd place in a Young Inventors Competition. The Prize money from the competition and the money gained from selling the patent for his car design provided enough money to pay for the last of the medical bills, ensure that his mother would be comfortably cared for and pay for Jim's tuition and schooling at SanFransokyo Institute of Technology. This time, Jim took the offer to attend university.
Fun Fact: He has a motorcycle which built himself.
