Teacher form:
Username: Fluffyrenegade
Character: Audrey Rocio Ramirez from Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Age: 23
What she will be teaching: Theatre Production
Personality: Audrey a very organized, intelligent, inventive and independent young woman. She is also a hard task master and a no-nonsense woman. She can sometimes come across as very sassy and sarcastic, bordering on snarky.
She takes her job very seriously and expects a lot from her students. She expects that students are responsible and willing to work hard. Audrey has no tolerance or patience for slackers and whiners. If you are not willing to work then get the fuck out of her classroom. She is always pushing her students to do better and to exceed their own expectations of themselves.
On the other hand, Audrey understands what it feels like to be a ‘genius kid’ and some of the pressures and seeming unsurmountable expectations that one comes across. She also realizes the importance of being encouraged to explore and develop one’s own potential and ideas. This combination of ideas is what spurs her to adopt a ‘tough love’ style of teaching and mentorship towards her students. Deep down, she cares for every single student who walks through the doors of this school. It just not very obvious.
Brief History: Audrey grew up an only child and was raise by her dad as her mother had left them when Audrey was very young. She learned the basics of machinery and auto-repairs at a young age from her father. By the time Audrey was 10, she knew more about machines and auto-repairs than most professional mechanics will know in their entire life. She completed high school by age 15 and enrolled in York University.
While this may have seemed like an odd choice of odd choice of schools, Audrey had always loved the theatre and film. In high school, she had always been involved in her high school plays by building set pieces, making props or organizing the actors for their scenes. She loved being able combine her knowledge of mechanics and set design to creating sets with moving parts or creating devices that would give a special kind of lighting effect.
She was able to combine these skills even further at York University and graduate with Honors. Audrey then went on to complete a two year Masters Program at in Robotics and Special Effects. After two years of working in the theatre community and building a rather impressive portfolio, Audrey was asked to come back to the Institute of Technology as the Theatre Production Professor. Excited to return and aid others on their journey, Audrey accepted.
Fun Fact: Those who take Theatre Production should be prepared to work in close contact with the students in Theatre Performance. Or as Audrey likes to put it, “You’ll be in charge of babysitting a bunch of high-strung, emotional actors and making sure they don’t touch the fucking props. If any of them touch a single prop, you have my permission to shoot them.”
