Students. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Professor Black and you must address me as such. Welcome to my psychology class. Let me warn you right off the bat, this class is no piece of cake. You will work. You will pay attention. You will take notes and you will study or you will fail. I can guarantee you that. This is not high school and if you find yourself intelligent enough to attend college then you will act as such. Now, here are a few things you need to know about my class. These are the seats in which you will be sitting. They face the front of the room where your attention should always be unless you are taking notes. I don't care where you sit, but if your seating arrangement become a distraction, you will be moved. If I catch you with a phone, computer or any other device that isn't necessary, I will not hesitate to confiscate it and you will have to retrieve it from the Head Mistress herself. I do not play around. you've been warned.
This is my desk. It will be located at the front of the classroom. You are not permitted to sit at this desk or on it and if I catch you, you will be expelled from my class without warning. No excuses will be accepted. You may approach my desk to turn in tests and homework or if you need to speak to me. Theres no reason for you to be there otherwise.
This is the turn in tray. It will be located on my desk. All homework is expected to be turned into this tray at the beginning of class. It will be checked at the end of each period. Late work will not be accepted and there will be absolutely no extra credit. I don't care if you need this class to pass. If you slack, its on you. The only exception of coarse will be if there is an emergency. Then you must discuss this with me either before or after class, not during. If you are absent from class and you have a legitimate note explaining why, you will have one class day to complete that days assignment.
Onto required materials for this class. This is the text book you should have purchased prior to the first day. If you don't have it by the end of the first week, you will fall behind. I also recommend getting a 2 inch black (or other color) binder with eight divider tabs and a wide ruled notebook to keep your notes in. Be sure to come with a writing utensil as well because I will not lend you any of mine and if you disrupt my class to get one from a classmate, I will deduct points for the day.
This is the door to my office, located at the right front of the classroom. Always knock before entering. I will be there an hour before and after classes. If you need to meet with me, be sure to make an appointment but if its last minuet, be sure its within that hour time frame before or after your class. Thats all for now.
